Just today I had sent an email to the Office of NJ Senator Robert Menendez regarding the issue if members of Congress are willing to enroll via the marketplace they expect us Americans to participate in and this is the response I received:
Dear Mr. ###########:
Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Your opinion is very important to me, and I appreciate the opportunity to respond to you on this vital issue.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (P.L. 111-148) establishes, for the first time, a competitive and transparent marketplace where individuals and small-groups are able to purchase quality, affordable health insurance. For employers with more than 100 employees, who have large-group or self-insured policies, these newly created marketplaces will not affect their insurance plans. As such, the only changes this law makes to these plans are increased consumer protections, such as prohibiting coverage denials because of a pre-existing condition and outlawing annual or lifetime limits on benefits.
The law does, however, require that members of Congress and their staff purchase health insurance through the new health insurance marketplaces rather than continue participating in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan. The federal government is our nation’s largest employer and just like other employers in this country that offer health insurance it provides a contribution to cover a portion of its employees’ insurance costs. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) recently announced regulations that will allow the government to continue paying the employer portion of Congressional employees’ premiums. This regulation maintains the employer-employee relationship used by employers across the country, without altering the requirement that these employees’ obtain their insurance in the newly created marketplaces. Again, I can assure you that I, along with my office staff, will be purchasing our health insurance through the new insurance marketplaces when they open in 2014.
Thank you for your support and for sharing your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be or more assistance. I invite you to visit my website (http://menendez.senate.gov) to learn more about how I am standing up for New Jersey families in the United States Senate.
Whether or not this can be trusted is to be seen in the near future, which is January 2014 to be exact. I’ve also sent an email to Representative Rob Andrews of NJ the same question, but still awaiting a response. I will post his response, if it comes, as well. So, keep your eyes open and be vigilant of your Senators and Representatives that they fulfill their promise of enrolling on the ObamaCare Program. Remember, if it’s good for us then it’s good for them.
The vapid minds of Liberals never cease to amaze me. Like this person Tirge Caps who blogs for the Daily Kos writes about how basically ObamaCare is going to cost more for him and his wife. Well, it seems those “crazy” Tea Baggers were REALLY onto something and not simply shooting from the hip. Yeah, they actually knew what they were talking about unlike the mindless automatons trying to espouse to the public the “virtues” ObamaCare would bestow on the people.
But I must admit I do emphathise with Liberals because it wasn’t too long ago that I was aboard the USS Progressive. I voted for Obama in 2008. I was a diehard defender of the Affordable Care Act when politicians were going to townhall meetings to discuss this atrocity. I get it, but it’s not reality. It’s an illusion that is put up front by a megalomaniac who is goosestepping to the same beat as Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot. There is no denying it anymore and if you still have those blinders on, well all I can say is that I have pity. This Affordable Care Act has already failed and it hasn’t even been fully implemented. The employer mandate has been delayed. The website is still filled to the brim with bugs and glitches. So how can a government that set up a damned website and NOT test it and NOT make sure it’s working properly before being rolled out to the public be trusted to run your healthcare? Can you honestly say that this is a good idea after watching the debacle unfold before your eyes? By the Gods, I hope most of you wake up before it’s too late.
And if you have turned a blind eye to the trainwreck in progress than maybe the ridiculous taxes on medical devices should appall you. The tax on medical devices will also affect veterinarian bills as well since some medical devices can be used for humans and animals. So, please if you can’t think about the people then think about the animals! Hell, if that doesn’t tug at your heart strings than know that Harry Reid made it a known through a slip of tongue that he thinks the medical device tax is ridiculous!
Another thing that should bother the bleeding heart, compassionate, freedom loving Liberal, that this compulsory individual mandate fines people for NOT having insurance. If someone doesn’t want it than you can NOT and may NOT force someone to have it by threatening them with fines. That’s their problem and their initiaitive. Shame on you would-be tyrannts for forcing people into something they may not want. You are not the Gods nor will you EVER have that power. It’s not yours. People can and will decide what is right for them and if you don’t like it then piss off and leave people alone. It’s their business, not yours.
The Affordable Care Act is one big bamboozle that will burden the shoulders of Americans with more taxes. A single payer system is preferrable to this pile of stinking garbage. At least it makes more sense than the befuddling ObamaCare. People should have access to quality health insurance that won’t break their banks, but ObamaCare won’t solve this problem. It’ll make it worse. And anyone still sucking down the Obama Care provided Kool-Aid, well I pity you.
